Historie Les anciennes armes d'Obernai étaient d'or á une aigle de sable, armée, lampassée et aux dissoers d'or, telles qu'elles apparaissent dans le vitrail de la Décapole de la fin du XVe siècle, au musée de Colmar. L'Armorial de la généralité d'Alsace (n° 364, p. 37) a changé les armes de la « Ville d'Oberehnheim » : « porte diapré de gueules dt de sable à une aigle d'or brochant sur le tour ». Le rouge et le noir sont depuis le XVe siècle, les couleurs de la ville. Obernai possèdait plusieurs sceaux : à l'image ee saint Pierre en 1258, puis de saint Pierre et de saint Paul, fin du XIIIe aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles. Le Schultheissensiegel du XVIIe siècle porte uniquement l'aigle, apparaissant dans le sceaux des le XVIe siècle. Des armes anciennes, datées de 1554, sont sculptées sur la façade de la Halle aux blés d'Obernai.
