English: This is an artist concept of a close-up view of Saturn's ring particles. The planet Saturn is seen in the background (yellow and brown). The particles (blue) are composed mostly of ice, but are not uniform. They clump together to form elongated, curved aggregates, continually forming and dispersing. The space between the clumps is mostly empty. The largest individual particles shown are a few meters (yards) across.
Français : Vue d'artiste : vue rapprochée des particules d'un des anneaux de Saturne. La planète Saturne figure à l'arrière-plan (en jaune et brun). Les particules (en bleu) se composent essentiellement de glace, mais ne sont pas uniformes. Elles s'assemblent pour former des agrégats allongés et courbes, qui se forment et se dispersent continuellement. L'espace qui sépare les agrégas est en bonne partie vide. Les particules individuelles les plus massives montrées sur l'image mesurent quelques mètres de diamètre.
