Dear Maros:

Could you please explain your removal of the reference to a relevant source? Apcbg 22:11, 21 máj 2006 (UTC)

It was removed because it's an English source. Please, include it in English Wikipedia. helix84 22:30, 21 máj 2006 (UTC)
This would seem a most unusual requirement indeed, to refer only to books published in the Slovak language. On the topic of this particular article, most publications are in either English or Spanish; without due references the article text could only be developed as original research which is not permitted. How many books on the Falkland Islands are there in Slovak? Apcbg 23:16, 21 máj 2006 (UTC)
You're right in that the article is unsourced. I'm not the author, so you have to ask him/her about that. As Slovak Wikipedia is rather small compared to English Wikipedia, we do not either have developed any strong policies on citing sources, neither on which external links to include. But we do meet with a lot of spam and you can imagine most of it is in English. It's common that if only a link is added it's removed without review. This is obviously not the case of a spamlink, but it might have been removed as such. As for sources - we try to include sources in Slovak laguage where available, but we do have them in other languages, too, presumably where no Slovak source exists (e.g. the internet RFC's) or if it's the source of data for the article (which this doesn't seem to be the case). I personally wouldn't object to adding sources, but we have interwiki if people are looking for more info in a specific language. helix84 02:48, 22 máj 2006 (UTC)
Dear Helix:
Many thanks for your comment, and I see your points. Unfortunately I don't have the time to contribute to the Falklands article in Slovak, and just provided a relevant reference: a book on the Falkland Islands and their political development written by a number of analysts from various countries. Its relevance has to do with its topic (the Falklands) not its language (English and Spanish), that's why it naturally appears as a reference in other Wikipedias as well (and the Slovak rejection is rather an exception as the rule). Yes there is the interwiki but supposedly the Slovak Wikipedia is a distinct self-contained one, and the English Wikipedia is not part of it nor is it an original source. Anyway, it's up to you to set your own standards and enforce them here (and delete without reading too); what I fail to appreciate is the unprovoked offensive attitude and threats by your colleague. The author(s) did not use the link as a source therefore there is no point to have it there. I consider it as a spam link, especially when you added it to all wikipedias. If you continue with such a spamming further, you will be blocked here. --Maros 05:00, 22 máj 2006 (UTC)
