PopisYohkoh SXT transequatorial loop.gif	English: This image shows the Sun as viewed by the Soft X-Ray Telescope (SXT) with the thin Al filter onboard the Yohkoh spacecraft. Slightly right of center shows a bright stripe crossing the solar equator. This is known as a transequatorial loop and is thought to play an important role in the Sun's 11 year sunspot cycle.
