Scott O’Dell

Scott O'Dell (* 23. máj 1898, Los Angeles, Kalifornia, USA – † 16. október 1989, Mount Kisco, New York) bol americký spisovateľ, autor 26 románov pre mládež, troch románov pre dospelých a štyroch nebeletristických kníh.

Scott O'Dell sa preslávil ako autor knihy Island of the Blue Dolphins (1960), za ktorú získal viacero ocenení. Ďalšími jeho úspešnými knihami boli The King's Fifth (1966), Black Star, Bright Dawn (1988), The Black Pearl (1968), a Sing Down the Moon (1970). Veľká časť jeho kníh pre deti boli fiktívnymi príbehmi, ktoré sa, odohrávali v historických obdobiach v Kalifornii a v Mexiku.
