English: A soldier from B Company, 1st Battalion the Mercian Regiment scans the landscape through the sights of his L85A2 assault rifle. He is wearing the newly implemented Multi Terrain Pattern camouflage.

A mixed patrol of Coldstream Guards and Mercian troops were patrolling from Patrol Base 1 to checkpoints in the region, so that the new inload of troops could learn the layout of the land and meet locals and members of the Afghan National Police force.
