- Proti. V literatúre (Malá československá encyklopedie, Všeobecný encyklopedický slovník, Veľký slovník cudzích slov 2008) je to uvedené oddelene. Konkrétne MČSE má článok pápežství výrazne dlhší ako pápež. Edit: rovnako oddelene uv8dza papacy a pope aj The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church, 1997. ISBN 0-19-211655-X. - A aký rozdiel je tam pri týchto dvoch termínoch? Predpokladám, že The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church k tomu nemá len jednovetové heslo.
