Dru Drury

Dru Drury (* 4. február 1725, Wood Lane pri Londýne – † 15. január 1804, Turnham Green) – bol anglický zlatník a významný entomológ.

Otec Dru Druryho bol zlatník, po ktorom Dru Drury prevzal jeho živnosť v roku 1748. V tejto profesii pokračoval až do roku 1789, kedy ukončil svoju činnosť a venoval sa už hlavne entomológii. V období medzi rokmi 1780 až 1782 pôsobil ako prezident tzv. „Druhej entomologickej spoločnosti v Londýne“ angl. The second Aurelian Society. Zomrel roku 1804 vo veku cca 79 rokov a bol pochovaný v St. Martin-in-the-Fields.

V rokoch 1770 až 1787 publikoval trojdielnu prácu Illustrations of Natural History, wherein are exhibited upwards of 240 figures of Exotic Insects, ktorá bola neskôr prepracovaná a vydaná pod titulom: Illustrations of Exotic Entomology v roku 1837.

Dru Drury bol vynikajúci zberateľ. Jeho zbierka pozostávala z cca 11 000 druhov hmyzu, prevažne motýľov.
